To use this journal you’ll have your child/student color in the image and talk about what it is. Then use the boxes to identify each sound in the word represented by the picture. Write the letters to spell the word in the boxes. (one letter per box.) Then, work together with your child/student to write a sentence using that word. Talk about proper capitalization and punctuation. You only need to write one sentence- you can either scribe the sentence for your child/student or have him/her write independently. Try to do one word and sentence each day.
